Chapter II · The Ingredients
We scored every ingredient individually. Some impressed us. Others raised serious questions.
Ascorbic Acid
Pure form of Vitamin C, which acts as a powerful antioxidant and promotes collagen synthesis, but can be irritating for sensitive skin.
Dimethyl Isosorbide
A modern solvent that improves the penetration of active ingredients into the skin without causing irritation.
Butylene Glycol
A moisturizing solvent that improves the texture of the serum and is considered safe.
PEG/PPG/Polybutylene Glycol-8/5/3 Glycerin
Serves as a humectant, but due to its PEG structure, it can slightly increase the permeability of the skin barrier to foreign substances.
Ferulic Acid
Plant-derived antioxidant that significantly increases the stability and antioxidant power of Vitamins C and E.
Tocopherol
Pure Vitamin E, which protects the skin from oxidative stress and supports the regeneration of the skin barrier.
Phenoxyethanol
A widely used preservative that effectively prevents the growth of bacteria and fungi.
Ethylhexylglycerin
Skin-conditioning ingredient that enhances the effect of preservatives and improves spreadability.
Sodium Hydroxide
Used in minimal concentration to adjust the optimal pH value and is neutralized in the final product.

Chapter III · The Deep Dive
The Geek & Gorgeous C-Glow is a lightweight serum based on the highly effective combination of Vitamin C, Ferulic Acid, and Vitamin E. It was specially developed to protect the skin from free radicals and to make the complexion glow.
The formulation is very puristic and focuses on scientifically proven active ingredients. Since fragrances, silicones, and classic alcohols are avoided, the product is very skin-friendly, provided one tolerates the acidic nature of pure Ascorbic Acid.
| Ingredient | Rating | Function & Effect |
|---|---|---|
